Middle School Writing Contest

On February 21-22, 2020 the History and Literary Art Program of the National Hispanic Cultural center (NHCC) will present an exciting two-day History Festival inspired by "Mundos de Mestizaje," the famous buon fresco by artist Frederico Vigil. The fresco, located in the Torreon on the NHCC campus, depicts thousands of years of Hispanic history, from Europe to Mesoamerica to the U.S. Southwest, illustrating the complexity and diversity of Hispanic culture, identity and heritage.

A Writing Contest for middle school students will accompany the festival. Winners and Honorable Mention submissions will be on display Wednesday-Sunday, February 19-23, 2020, in the NHCC History and Literary Arts Building.
